Bridge the Gap Between Your Teeth

Bridge the Gap Between Your Teeth

Trust our Yakima, WA dental office for your dental bridge

At the office of Dr. Eric K Borchert DDS, we've placed hundreds of dental bridges for our patients in Yakima, WA. Dental bridges are made of two crowns and a false tooth or set of teeth. The crowns rest on top of existing teeth, and the false teeth either cover damaged teeth or replace empty spaces where your teeth have been pulled.

Most bridges are made from a combination of gold, alloy and porcelain. Bridges restore your teeth to their original shine and luster. They also make it easier for you to chew and more difficult for your teeth to shift your mouth.

3 types of dental bridges

Dental bridges have come a long way since they first came into use. Nowadays, there are three main types of dental bridges you can talk to your dentist about. These are:

  1. Maryland bonded bridges. These are made of porcelain and a metal framework, and are usually used to replace front teeth.
  2. Fixed bridges. These bridges are made of a porcelain or ceramic tooth attached in the mouth by two or more crowns. These are the most common types of dental bridges.
  3. Cantilever bridges. These are used when there aren't any teeth next to the missing teeth.
